Snowmass Winter Activities

Treat yourself to one of the finest ski resort areas in the United States. With 3,128 acres of every kind of terrain and 22 ski lifts, the Snowmass Mountain has it all. Your lift tickets are good for four mountains, totaling 4,900 acres, with 40 lifts serving over 300 trails. Don't know how to ski? Take advantage of award-winning ski and snowboard schools, which offer personal lessons that will enable you to tackle the mountain like a pro.

The Snowmass and Aspen area is more than just skiing and snowboarding, however. Take advantage of one of the numerous cultural events like a film or a show at the historic Wheeler Opera House, or catch a concert or a fine arts exhibit. Dine on local cuisine at one of our gourmet restaurants or mountain cafés. Snowmobiling
Take a self-guided tour or a guided tour to the world famous Maroon Bells and surrounding areas. All guided tours include experienced, knowledgeable guides and hot refreshments. No experience necessary, with a minimum age of 3 years of age for passengers.          

Dog Sledding
The thrill of a lifetime. You and a partner ride in a handmade sled pulled by a team of huskies along a ten mile loop. Experience the breathtaking backcountry near the base of Mt. Daly, in the Maroon Bells Wilderness Area. Your own “musher” will guide you through the forest during the approximately two hour tour. Afterwards, you will be treated to either lunch or dinner in the cozy, cabin restaurant.

Cross Country Skiing
There are over 60 miles of cross-country ski trails within the Aspen/Snowmass area, you are bound to find a trail to suit your skills. The Aspen Nordic Center and the Snowmass Cross Country Center offers lessons and rentals.

Snowcat Rides and Dinners
Take a Snowcat up to the famous Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro on scenic Highlands Ski area. Enjoy traditional European cuisine including Fondue and Raclette. In Snowmass, you can go up to the Lynn Brit Cabin and enjoy rustic American West cuisine. If you are looking for something more casual and family friendly, then the Burlingame Cabin is it. You can indulge in an American BBQ style dinner with ribs, burgers, and smores for dessert. Reservations are required and recommended to make in advance.

Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding
Discover world-class skiing in Aspen/Snowmass, featuring 3,362 acres of terrain, 91 trails, 21 chairlifts and access to your choice of cruisers, glades, steeps, terrain parks and halfpipes. Ski Snowmass and discover adventure on Snowmass Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Aspen Mountain or Buttermilk. Please contact the concierge to pre-order your lift tickets, lessons, and rentals.

Snowshoeing
Explore Aspen and Snowmass’s scenic backcountry on a guided snowshoe tour led by a naturalist from the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies. Your guide will teach you about the habitat of the Rocky Mountains and the local fauna. Guides include lift tickets, snowshoe rentals, guides, and basic instruction.
